Movie Theaters Send Warning To Minecraft Viewers As Cinemas Erupt In Chaos For Bizarre Reason
A wave of disruption tied to the release of A Minecraft Movie has prompted cinemas across the world to respond, as audience members – largely inspired by a viral TikTok trend – have been engaging in rowdy and unruly behavior during screenings.
Based on the globally popular video game Minecraft, the film stars Jack Black and Jason Momoa, portraying characters who are transported through a portal into the game’s iconic blocky universe.
Despite receiving a lukewarm critical response, the movie has been a commercial hit, projected to rake in $140 million domestically during its opening weekend, along with an additional $100 million from international markets.

The film’s popularity among younger viewers has seemingly fueled chaotic behavior in theaters.
Viral videos circulating on social media reveal scenes of popcorn being tossed through the air, shouting, profanity, and audience members leaping from their seats.
In one notable case, a cinema in the U.S. had to call in law enforcement to restore order after moviegoers refused to settle down.
Amid growing concerns, REEL Cinema in Fareham, Hampshire, issued a stern warning.
A representative told the Daily Echo: “To ensure everyone has the best possible cinema experience, we’re increasing our monitoring of screens during performances.”
They emphasized that: “disruptive behavior, including taking part in TikTok trends, before, during, or after a screening will not be tolerated.”
The spokesperson added: “Anyone causing disruption will be asked to leave, and where necessary, the police will be called.”
Cinemas in other regions, such as Cineworld in Glasgow, have also spoken out, discouraging similar disturbances.

One standout scene in the trailer—featuring Black and Momoa in a boxing ring with a character riding a ‘cuboid Minecraft chicken’ – has become a viral moment.
In the film, Black exclaims, ‘Chicken jockey,’ a line that has triggered loud cheers, clapping, and synchronized chanting from enthusiastic fans.
One audience member wrote online: “Just got back from watching the movie myself, can confirm everyone in the theatre collectively yelled ‘CHICKEN JOCKEY’ during that moment and it was glorious ngl.”
While some view the outbursts as part of the fun, theater employees have voiced frustration.
“I’m a theatre employee: by throwing water, popcorn and all that onto people… y’all are making our jobs harder,” one TikTok user posted.
Another pleaded: “PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE just don’t be obnoxious… Nothing wrong with cheering during big moments but don’t be swearing.”
Although some attendees find the energy exciting, others have expressed concern.
One parent said their daughter was so overwhelmed by the chaos they had to leave early, calling the experience ‘ruined.’
