Planning for an outdoor red carpet means preparing for almost everything—except the weather. That part is never fully in your control. At the 2013 British Academy Film Awards, Winnie Forsyth wore a bright yellow gown and got some great photos. But what many didn’t see was the gown’s train. The wind kept lifting it, so she decided to remove it. This way, she enjoyed the evening with ease and still looked elegant.

Chloë Grace Moretz
Chloë Grace Moretz wore a stylish velvet top on Watch What Happens Live. However, the fabric didn’t stretch enough, and during the event, it tore slightly at the back of her sleeve. Fortunately, the tear was at her back shoulder, only noticeable when she turned around to sign autographs.

Anne Hathaway
Anne Hathaway once faced a surprise on her way to the Met Gala. She told Stephen Colbert that while she was almost at the event, she sneezed, and her dress split. Luckily, they found a seamstress, and she still made it to the event—just a little later than planned.

Hailee Steinfeld
At the 2017 Oscars, Hailee Steinfeld wore a gown with a flowery design. While she looked stunning, there was a small tear in the dress. She managed to keep it mostly hidden, and very few noticed it during the event.

Minnie Driver
At the 1998 Oscars, Minnie Driver wore a red gown, but it started to slip. She quickly wrapped her shawl around herself, keeping the look stylish while making sure everything stayed in place.

Laura Govan
Laura Govan wore a patterned party dress that gave her a bit of trouble. Like others with strapless styles, she had to keep adjusting her dress to keep it secure. Even with that, the dress still looked fun and stylish.

Janet Jackson
During Super Bowl XXXVIII, Janet Jackson experienced an unexpected issue during the halftime show with Justin Timberlake. He accidentally removed part of her outfit that wasn’t meant to come off completely. She later explained that only the top layer was supposed to be removed, not the inner piece meant for coverage.
