Glen Rogers, a suspected serial killer known as “The Casanova Killer,” was executed by lethal injection on Thursday (May 15) at Florida State Prison. He was 62 years old and was pronounced dead at 6:16PM, people reported.
The prisoner was executed for the 1995 murder of 34-year-old Tina Marie Cribbs, a mother of two he had met at a bar.
Cribbs was found with stab wounds in a Tampa motel room that had been rented by Rogers. He was later caught in Kentucky driving her car following a highway chase.According to BC News, Rogers, originally from Hamilton, Ohio, had also been convicted and sentenced to death in California for the 1995 strangulation of Sandra Gallagher, a mother of three whom he met at a bar in Van Nuys.
That killing occurred just weeks before Cribbs’ death. Although sentenced in California, Rogers remained incarcerated and was ultimately executed in Florida.
At one point, Rogers claimed to have killed 70 women, although he was only ever convicted of two murders. He later recanted that claim, but his criminal history drew national attention and inspired documentaries, including the 2012 film My Brother the Serial Killer.
That documentary featured his brother, Clay Rogers, and raised questions about whether Glen had any connection to the 1994 killings of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman.
His brother claimed Rogers had confessed to those murders, but the Los Angeles Police Department dismissed the allegation. “We know who killed Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman. We have no reason to believe that Mr. Rogers was involved,” LAPD said in a statement.

In the hours leading up to Rogers’ execution, he woke up at 3:45AM and received one visitor. He requested a last meal of pizza, chocolate, and soda, according to Department of Corrections spokesman Ted Veerman.
Before the lethal injection was administered, the death row inmate thanked his wife, who had visited him earlier that day, and offered a brief message of support for President Donald Trump.
“President Trump, keep making America great. I’m ready to go,” he said, per Associated press.
He also addressed the victims of his crimes, saying: “I know there’s a lot of questions that you need answers to…I promise you in the near future the questions will be answered and I hope in someway will bring you closure,” per USA today.
The U.S. Supreme Court denied Rogers’ final appeals without comment last Wednesday. His lawyers had previously argued that his childhood abuse should have warranted a life sentence under new legislation, but the courts rejected the claim.
Rogers became the fifth inmate executed in the state this year. His execution followed a death warrant signed by Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis last month.
