Billie Eilish once lost 100,000 followers in a single hour on Instagram after posting a picture that clearly didn’t go down well.

Since exploding onto the scene in 2015 with ‘Ocean Eyes’, 23-year-old Eilish has built an enormous fan base, with over 124 million Instagram followers and a trophy shelf that includes Grammys, an Oscar, and BRIT Awards.

At the beginning of her career, she made headlines for wearing oversized clothing to avoid being sexualized.

She’s long spoken out against body shaming and unrealistic beauty standards, both in interviews and through her music.

With this in mind, Eilish shared an image on her Instagram story, and things did not go well.

It all started during a “post a picture” challenge on Instagram back in 2020.

When prompted to share “a drawing you’re really proud of,” Eilish responded not with a safe sketch or sentimental doodle, but with an image featuring various nude female figures entangled with snakes.

The caption read: “These probably lol I love boobs.”

The bold artistic choice set off a mini firestorm online, resulting in 100,000 people unfollowing the singer.

But rather than backing down, Eilish clapped back with a second Instagram Story that summed up her feelings perfectly: “LMFAOOO y’all babies smh.”

And it’s not just drawings that get people talking. Eilish has been just as candid in interviews.

In a previous chat with Rolling stone , she revealed what helps her unwind: “Sex.” She added, “I basically talk about sex any time I possibly can. That’s literally my favourite topic. My experience as a woman has been that it’s seen in such a weird way.”

This isn’t the only bizarre story involving Eilish and a photograph, as it turns out that even Hollywood A-listters regret taking a photo with her.

Well, Chris Hemswoth  had a brief encounter with Billie Eilish that left him hilariously mortified.

Appearing on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Hemsworth opened up about the now-viral moment during the fan-favorite “Colbert Questionert” segment.

“I got a photograph with Billie Eilish at the Oscars, and I remember thinking, ‘Ah, don’t do it. Don’t do it’ and I was like ‘Nah, my kids are gonna love this,’” Hemsworth admitted.

So, with wife Elsa Pataky by his side, Hemsworth made the move and asked Eilish for a pic during the 2024 Academy Awards at the Dolby Theatre.

But the moment the shutter clicked, reality hit.

“The moment I took it (the photo), I was like, ‘I went from work colleague to now like a fan.’ We will never be friends, never be best friends,” Hemsworth joked.

Colbert seemed genuinely surprised and asked: “Have you worked with Billie?”

Hemsworth explained they hadn’t collaborated but said they were “same industry kind of colleagues” who had been “bumping shoulders” over the years.

Colbert couldn’t resist a zinger: “Sure, me and Anthony Hopkins, work colleagues.”
