A music legend who worked with the band Bon Jovi has died.
The celebrated album cover designer, widely known for his iconic contributions to rock music visuals, has passed away at the age of 66.
Best known for crafting the artwork behind legendary bands such as Bon Jovi and Deep Purple, he died on April 7, 2025.
His family confirmed the news through a heartfelt message posted on an online memorial.
In a touching tribute, his loved ones shared “We announce with heavy hearts the passing of Ioannis, our beloved artist, husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle and friend, who has left us for the great beyond.”
The obituary expressed both sorrow and gratitude, noting: “The outpouring of love for his work is also a great comfort.”
The family also reflected on his passion and drive, writing: “There were so many things Ioannis wanted to do and so many new projects he could not wait to share.”
They added that they intend to carry forward his artistic legacy, stating: “As a family we have been tasked to continue this work and that is what we are going to do. His energy will live on through his incredible art.”

Born in Athens, Greece, Ioannis Vasilopoulos moved to the United States in 1967.
His early exposure to both music and animation during childhood laid the foundation for a career that would merge the two into striking visual art.
