The American comedian and former talk show host recently gave her followers a glimpse into her new lifestyle in the U.K., where she now resides with her wife, actress Portia de Rossi.
The 67-year-old entertainer seems to be thriving in her rural environment and is showing off a dramatic transformation that marks a new chapter in her life.
The couple’s move to Oxfordshire came after their initial Cotswolds residence was severely affected by flooding shortly after they arrived in the U.K.
The relocation seems to have suited them well, as Ellen appears more relaxed and at ease than she has in recent years.
Their presence in the village hasn’t gone unnoticed by locals either.
Jeremy Clarkson, the former Top Gear presenter and now proprietor of a local pub called The Farmer’s Dog, recently confirmed that Ellen and Portia are frequent visitors.
“She lives in the village where our pub is,” Clarkson said per the mirror, adding that while ‘everyone said she has been cancelled,’ he found her to be ‘very friendly and lovely.’
He continued: “I’m not going to believe what I read online. She seemed lovely.”
This major lifestyle shift follows the return of Donald Trump to the presidency in late 2024, an event that reportedly contributed to Ellen and Portia’s decision to move abroad.
Though DeGeneres has faced controversy and criticism in recent years, she seems to be turning a new page, both in her career and personal life.
Once known for her signature platinum blonde hair, DeGeneres has now opted for a darker brunette hue.
In a recent instagram video, Ellen showcased this new look while taking a ride on a yellow lawn mower outside her Oxfordshire home.
The clip begins with the phrase ‘How it started’ and shows Ellen navigating her new property.
It then cuts to a moment where she appears to need assistance, with the text ‘How it ended’ flashing across the screen.
Ellen explained: “Portia thought it would be fun to film my first time on the mower. She was right.”
